About the Artist
Christine lives in Florence, Italy, and is originally from Chicago. Her primary professional career has focused on improving education, gender equality, and opportunities for young people across Africa and Asia—a path that has taken her to nearly eighty countries and deeply shaped her world view and artistic perspective.
Although she had little access to art training growing up, drawing and painting have always been an important part of her life. Over the past decade, she has committed herself to serious artistic study, training at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, and now in a private studio in Florence. Her experiences working in some of the world’s most challenging contexts have given her a deep appreciation for the strength of individuals and communities, profoundly shaping her artistic interests and motivations.
She is currently developing a series of portraits that explore the untold strength, resilience, and hope of children living in conflict-affected regions. Her broader portfolio includes figure, portrait, still life, and landscape works in oil, pastel, and watercolor, as well as drawings in charcoal and ink.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in international comparative politics from DePaul University and a master’s degree in international affairs from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
